|Title||An introduction to the theory of Near-vector Spaces|
|Presenter||Karin-Therese Howell (Stellenbosch University)|
|Session||Algebra and Discrete Mathematics|
Andre first generalized the concept of a vector space, i.e., linear space, to a structure comprising a bit more non-linearity, the so-called near-vector space in a paper in 1974. In this talk I will give a brief introduction to the theory of Near-vector Spaces, including discussing the main definitions and results and speaking of the more recent work.
