ANZIAM2026 Information
About ANZIAM
- ANZIAM (Australia and New Zealand Industrial and Applied Mathematics) is a division of the Australian Mathematical Society (AustMS).
- ANZIAM members are interested in applied mathematical research, mathematical applications and tertiary mathematics education.
Conference Location
Venue Information
The ANZIAM 2026 Conference will be held at the Canberra Rex Hotel (150 Northborne Avenue, Braddon ACT 2612) from 8-12 February 2026. The venue is located 2 km north from the Canberra CBD.
Transport
There are direct flights from all Australian capital cities to Canberra International Airport.
Accommodation Options
The Canberra Rex Hotel provides on-site accommodation. Use the link to book rooms at the conference rate (valid until 9 January 2026).
In addition, there are many accommodation options nearby, with many along Northborne Avenue. See VisitCanberra.
For those staying in the CBD, there is a light rail running along Northborne Avenue which stops outside the Rex. Ticketing is via MyWay +.
Conference registration fees
Early-bird registration opens Monday 22 September and closes Tuesday 9 December. Standard registration closes Sunday 1 February.

All early-bird and standard registrations for the full conference are inclusive of the welcome reception on the evening of Sunday, 8 February. Also included are the lunches and morning and afternoon tea breaks over the duration of the conference. The conference dinner is not included in the registration fee. After 1 February 2026, we will be unable to offer refunds for registrations.
Travel and Registration Support
The following funding support is available for attendees at ANZIAM 2026:
- WIMSIG Anne Penfold Street Awards: These provide full or partial financial support for care providers and/or facilities to individuals while they travel for conferences or research visits. Potential uses for these Awards include (but are not limited to) short-term childcare and professional carers for elderly relatives.
- WIMSIG Cheryl E. Praeger Travel Awards: These provide full or partial support for women, trans and gender diverse mathematicians based in Australia to attend conferences or research visits.
- ANZIAM Student Support Scheme: This scheme provides funding for travel and registration fees for students to attend ANZIAM conferences.

ANZIAM Special Interest Group Workshops
The Mathematic Biology Special Interest Group (MBSIG) Workshop, the Special Interest Group in Mathematical Optimisation (SigmaOpt) Workshop and the Engineering Mathematics Group Workshop will be held immediately after the ANZIAM Conference on Friday 13 February at the Mathematical Sciences Institute at ANU.
The Cherry Ripe Prize
The Cherry Ripe Prize is awarded to the best non-student talk at the annual ANZIAM Conference (as voted by students). Students will receive a link to a Google Form to submit their votes for the Cherry Ripe Prize. All students receive one vote (which can be edited after submission). The winner will be announced after the final Plenary on Thursday. Please have your votes submitted prior to the start of the final plenary.
